FGHA Hockey School

The FGHA is very excited to have local Olympian Megan Bozek returning to run our FGHA Hockey School this year.  Hockey School is open to all registered FGHA house league players and it is a great way to give new and returning players the opportunity to get ready for the upcoming House League season. 

For only $150, skaters will receive 8 hours of on-ice instruction by local Olympian Megan Bozek and there will be content for players of all abilities, from beginner to advanced skaters. 

Megan is a 2-time Olympian as a member of the US National Hockey team and was in Beijing for the 2022 Olympics where they won a silver medal.  Megan grew up in Buffalo Grove, IL and she played hockey in Chicago area, until she left for college. Megan played college hockey at University of Minnesota from 2009-2013, winning back-to-back National Championships 2012 and 2013. She has been a part of 2 Olympics (2014 and 2022) receiving a Silver Medal at both. Megan has been part of the USA Program since 2009 (u18 year). She currently lives in Waterdown with her husband, Andrew and dog, Boone.

Sessions will be offered for U9, U11, U13/U15/U18 age groups although these age groups may change slightly depending on registrations. 

For our younger and first time skaters, we have additional on-ice help through older Falcons who assist those that need a little more instruction and encouragement. 

Our experience is that newer Falcons, react very well to the guidance provided by Megan and our older Falcons who are seen as role models. For the more experienced skater, Megan is also able to challenge them through the drills and encouragement providing a tailored approach to all abilities. The sessions will include instruction on skating, passing, shooting and of course having fun on the ice for all ages and skill levels.  In order to participate, players must be registered with the FGHA for house league hockey as well as the separate hockey school registration.  All fees must be paid in full before the players are able to skate.
