The U7 Program is Hockey Canada’s official introduction to hockey, designed to give young players a safe, positive, and fun first experience with the game. When children start their hockey journey on the right foot, they’re more likely to develop a lifelong love for the sport.
This program is mandated by Hockey Canada and the OWHA and focuses on small-ice development to help our youngest players build the confidence, strength, and fundamental skills they need to succeed on the ice.
The Flamborough Girls Hockey Association (FGHA) is proud to sponsor the U7 FUNdamental Program for young girls in our community who are ready to learn to skate and take their first steps into hockey.
A Strong Start for Future Hockey Stars - fun, safe, and structured learning.
Progressive Skills Development - players learn skating, passing, puck control, and shooting step by step.
Led by Experienced Coaches - guided by Celina Clark, our U7 athletes benefit from expert, supportive instruction.
Role Models on the Ice - older Falcons players join sessions to mentor and inspire our youngest skaters.
Philosophy: Fun, Fitness & Fair Play - the focus is on enjoyment, confidence, and teamwork, not winning.

The U7 Program is designed to:
Introduce and develop basic hockey skills in a fun, safe setting.
Build confidence and support overall motor skill development.
Foster a sense of teamwork and belonging.
Promote fitness, fair play, and cooperation through enjoyable on-ice activities.
Children participate in four progressive phases of instruction, learning through practice drills and modified games tailored to their skill level.
Water Bottles: Please bring a clearly labelled, filled water bottle each week. For health reasons, sharing bottles is discouraged.
Name on Helmet: Write your child’s name on white hockey tape and place it on their helmet to help coaches and volunteers quickly learn names.
Equipment: Full gear is required, including a helmet with cage/visor, mouth guard, jill, and protective equipment.
Dressing Room Policy: For privacy and safety, no males (of any age) are permitted in the dressing rooms. Please assist your child outside the change room or have them arrive partially dressed.
Hockey is more than a sport — it’s an opportunity for your daughter to build skills, confidence, friendships, and a lifelong love of the game.
